Here at FarmersOnly.com, we love hearing y'alls so sweet love stories. Debbie and George are gettin' hitched next month and we're SO happy for them. We gabbed with Debbie for a while this week.
What towns/states are y'all from?We currently call Burton, Texas our home. I grew up in the area, George grew up in the Checotah/Muskogee area of Oklahoma. We plan to move to Arkansas in the near future - something I have always wanted to do, and George is extremely happy with that area also.
What did you do on your first date? Our first "date" was having breakfast with my "breakfast club," which is a group of retirees - most of whom are widowed, divorced, or never married. The little town of Burton (population 300) is an agriculture based community and is home of the Texas Cotton Gin, the oldest operating cotton gin in America. George had heard so much about the "breakfast club" and he was anxious to meet everyone.
When did you know that he was the one?I knew he was the one when over and over we discovered that we had so much in common - we called it our "blessed connection." From the first few weeks of exchanging emails, then texts, then phone calls we continued to find that we shared the same likes and dislikes.
What is your favorite thing about him?My favorite thing about him is that he is compassionate. I am handicapped, and in one of our early emails I asked him if he was sure he wanted to date "an old woman with a cane". He is always looking for ways to make life easier for me, and loves me despite my limp.
Congratulations on your engagement Debbie and George! We wish you love, and happiness, for all the rest of your days!
