Here at FarmersOnly.com, we love hearing y'alls so sweet love stories. Maria and Client are just the CUTEST, and they're expecting their first kiddo! We got to email with Maria for a bit this week and are happy to share her story.
If you would have told me 6 months ago I would be engaged to the man I've always dreamed of, living on a beautiful stretch of land and pregnant with his child I would laughed in your face. I joined FarmersOnly on a whim because I was tired of meeting the same kind of guy. I've tried other sites and I've tried meeting men organically and yet still found the that I just couldn't find the kind of guy I was looking for so I figured what the hell, what do I have to lose. I was on the site on and off for about a year. My membership was just about to expire and I still had my doubts but was hanging onto hope. I looked through my email one final time and came across someone that caught my eye. Ultimately it was his sarcastic email poking fun at my extensively written profile that kept my interest. I gave him my number and told him to use it if he so chooses. To my delight he called me the next day and since then my life has never been the same and never will be.
What towns/states are y'all from?We both live in Texas. He is originally from Lampasas and I'm a yankee transplant living in Austin. We both find it hilarious that I'm a yankee and he's a born and raised Texan.
What did you do on your first date? Our first date was magical, amazing and simple. I insisted on driving out to meet him to make sure he wasn't lying about his situation and I didn't join FarmersOnly to hang out in the city where I live. We met at Storms which is a fast food joint that his parents had their first date which I thought was adorable and the only reason I would accept going to a fast food joint on a first date!
Also Lampasas is a small town and doesn't have too many options anyway and I do love a good greasy burger on occasion. He then took me out to his families 400 acres. He bought lots of fruit like pineapple and cantaloupe and had me target shoot and I loved it! He then built me a fire and we just talked all night long and fell asleep under the stars. I'll never forget when I asked him if he needed any help and he told me in his southern accent, "No darling, you just sit there and look pretty" and I nearly died! At that moment I thought, finally a real man!
We had literally talked for over 12 hours straight. Although I was still skeptical I called my mom the next morning and told her that her prayers had been answered!
When did you know that he was the one? We've only know each other now since January 23rd but for him it was love at first site. For me it took about 2 weeks because I was so guarded and had so many walls up from being hurt before. Something in me knew right away I just still wouldn't let myself fall though.
What is your favorite thing about him? It's really hard to narrow down the one thing I like most about him because there isn't just one thing. It's everything. There is not a thing I would change. I love everything about him, even his flaws and broken parts because that is what makes him real and him. We are bound and I never knew a love like this could exist. I love his big heart, how kind and patient he is with me and his sense of humor! He is my mirror and I've learned to love myself so in turn I can truly love him.
Why'd you write in to us?I would love to share my story because I have been through hell and back. I've overcome so much and stayed strong and true to myself making many mistakes along the way and I'm sure many mistakes to come. However, now I don't have to do it alone, nobody should. I'm very thankful to FarmersOnly for creating such a site. I've had incredible experiences and some not so but it was all worth it in the end.
Congratulations on your life together Maria and Clint! We wish you love, and happiness, for all the rest of your days!
