When Kevin first contacted me, I wasn't sure I wanted to respond back as he wasn't the type of man I had been with in the past and he seemed too "businessy" for me. I was always looking for the really rugged, country boys. I did finally respond and after about 2 months of corresponding, we had our first date. We hit it off immediately and had a second date the next day. We have been inseparable ever since, taking little weekend trips whenever we can. We got engaged in Fort Lauderdale in April and we recently traveled to California for a small weekend trip and ended up getting married at one of the most beautiful spots at Lake Tahoe, Emerald Bay. We are soulmates and wanted to make it official. We are now Mr and Mrs Kevin Johnson living in the little town of 323 people. My 3 boys adore him and he loves them as his own. - JJ
What towns/states are y'all from?Originally Kevin was from the Pacific Northwest, but when we met he was living in Omaha, Nebraska where he had recently transferred for work. I was born and raised in Nebraska and live in a small town.
What did you do one your first date?We agreed to meet at a local brewery in Omaha called The Lucky Bucket where we took a tour, had a few drinks and played cornhole (which we are continuing to battle each other at whenever possible).
When did you know that they were the one?I think I almost knew immediately as Kevin was completely different than anyone I had dated or met before. He was very kind hearted, sweet and smart. Even to this day he does not want me to open my own door. Kevin says he knew on our first date as well. We even met again the next day where he made breakfast and we hung out most of the day. This may sound corny, but It was like our souls knew right away.
How did he ask you to marry him?Kevin proposed to me on a mini vacation to Fort Lauderdale, FL. We were walking along the beach, when he stopped and got down on one knee. Just as we got engaged on a spur of the moment, we got married the same. We were on another mini vacation to California when we decided to get married on the shores of Lake Tahoe.
What is your favorite thing about them?My favorite thing about Kevin is his passion and positivity in almost everything he does. I also love his willingness to love myself and my three boys with no hesitation. Kevin says he loves how caring I am to everyone around. We have done so much together already and have only been dating 1 year and married 2 months. We love to go to country concerts, travel, play with the boys, fish, hunt etc. It has been a wonderful whirlwind.
